Hepatitis C prevalence

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) prevalence remains low in England, and is estimated at 0.67% for those aged 15–59 years. Using Bayesian modelling to accommodate multiple data sources, this evidence synthesis incorporates data on those not injecting drugs, by ethnic group. Prevalence is high (45%) among current injecting drug users. HCV prevalence among never injectors is highest in South Asians (0.76%) and lowest among white/other ethnic groups (0.05%).
